I came across this while cleaning out some files of resources I had collected for my book. It made me smile, and I thought it might make you smile too. I don’t know who Paula is, but if someone does, I’d gladly give her credit.
Never a Bad Hair Day
Posted on September 23, 2011 by Paula
“A woman with breast cancer, going through the rigors of chemo, woke up one morning,
looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three hairs left on her head.
‘Well,’ she said, ‘I think I’ll braid my hair today.’
So she did and she had a wonderful day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror
and saw that she had only two hairs remaining on her head.
‘H-M-M,’ she said, ‘I think I’ll part my hair down the middle today.’
So she did and she had a grand day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed
that she had only one lonely hair on her head, hanging on for dear life.
‘Well,’ she said, ‘Today I’m going to wear my hair in a pony tail.’
So she did, and she had a fun, fun day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and
noticed that there wasn’t a single hair on her head.
‘YAY!’ she exclaimed. ‘I don’t have to fix my hair today!’”
Maggie, having just been diagnosed with breast cancer, and no clear direction as to where this will take me, your book and musings take on new dimensions! God is always good!
I’m so sorry to hear this, Kathy! God is always good — keep me in touch with how you are doing and I’ll be praying for you.
